- Project Summary
This project has 3 objectives:
- To measure the impact of the pandemic on health and social services use, infection rate and mortality of Persons living with dementia both in the community and in long-term care facilities. This will be done using provincial databases.
- To understand the Person living with dementia’s and caregivers’ perceived needs, behaviours and experiences of health and social services. This will done through interviews and questionnaires done and filled out by caregivers and Persons living with dementia’s.
- To generate and disseminate evidence-based and actionable recommendations on effective strategies to tackle the current wave of the pandemic and prepare for subsequent waves. We will hold a deliberative dialogue with all stakeholders involved.

A paper that further details the project was published in Science of Nursing and Health Practices in June 2021.
