COVID-19 and mortality in Scotland’s Long-Term Care system

Elizabeth Lemmon (University of Edinburgh) and David Bell (University of Stirling)

On the 14th December LTCcovid.org held the final webinar of the year: international experiences of 2nd, 3rd waves, vaccines and beyond. During the session, representative speakers from around the world gave lightning presentations to talk about the experiences of the pandemic to date, focusing on differences between the first and second waves and the newest movements on vaccines. Amongst those speakers we offered the perspective from Scotland. We have been involved in a number of reports for the LTC-COVID-19 platform and in this post, published on the Edinburgh Health Economics website, we reflect on the pandemic in Scotland and its impact on Scotland’s care homes and care home residents.
