Government policy

On 16 March 2020, the Irish Government published a National Action Plan on COVID-19, which will continue to evolve as the situation evolves. Long-term care is covered under a number of action areas.

In Ireland, the Department of Rural and Community Development is leading the government effort to encourage and facilitate a community response to COVID-19. A Government Action Plan to Support the Community Response was published on 20 March. Action 2 in this plan is to: Provide Community Supports to Older People
