Short bio

Mari Aaltonen (Ph.D. in health sciences, Adjunct Professor) currently works as a Chief Researcher at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare. In addition, she has a fixed-term position as a Senior Research Fellow at the Faculty of Social Sciences (Health Sciences) and Gerontology Research Center, Tampere University. Her work focuses on gerontology and health and social care policy, and is part of the research conducted at the Centre of Excellence in Research on Ageing and Care (CoE Age Care).
Research interests

Research interests: ageing, longevity, memory disorders and dementia, end of life, health care, long-term care, health and social care policy, informal care, the societal impacts of ageing populations, and the effects of covid-19 on care.
