Next LTCcovid webinar: The COVID-19 outbreak in the care home sector – does ownership matter? 20th July, 2 GMT

Globally, residents in care homes have experienced disproportionately high morbidity and mortality from COVID-19. Resident frailty and pre-existing structural issues in care homes are at least partly responsible. Factors that are external to the control of individual home operators, such as limited access to a sufficient supply of PPE and testing kits available from local public health authorities, also played a role in the extend of the spread of COVID-19. Despite these common vulnerabilities, not all care homes suffered equally from COVID-19. In this webinar, we will explore the potential role of home ownership on outcomes associated with COVID-19 outbreaks in care homes.
