Launch of the International Living Report on COVID-19 and Long-Term Care, 6-7 December 2021

We are delighted to announce that on the 6th and 7th December 2021 we will launch the LTCcovid International Living Report on COVID-19 and Long-Term Care, a “wiki-style” collaborative report that aims to facilitate international learning on Long-Term Care systems and the COVID-19 pandemic.

The report is formed of 64 questions that can be answered at national or regional/sub-national level and is organised in four parts:

  1. Key characteristics of Long-Term Care systems and preparedness, pre-pandemic
  2. Impacts of the COVID-19 on people who use and provide Long-Term Care
  3. Measures adopted to minimise the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on people who use and provide LTC
  4. Reforms and actions to address structural weaknesses of LTC systems and improve preparedness for future emergencies

It is being compiled and updated collaboratively by experts in LTC all over the world, building on the previous LTCcovid country reports. Experts on long-term care can sign up and contribute by answering questions on their countries and areas of expertise and update them as new information and research become available. A team from the Social Care COVID Recovery and Resilience project is currently moderating and editing the contributions.

We will create country profiles for countries where enough questions have been completed.

If you would like to contribute to the report, please email a.comas@lse.ac.uk.

To join the (free) launch event, a two-day International workshop on COVID-19 and long-term care systems: Lessons learnt and new reforms, the programme is available here.
